Man found with head trauma in street dies, identified

Victim identified as Angelo Polendo, 37

SAN ANTONIO – A man found with severe head trauma in the middle of a West Side street has died.

The victim was identified as Angelo Polendo, 37, the Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office said Wednesday.

Polendo's last known listed address is in Somerset.

After received multiple calls for a shooting, police found Polendo around 11:40 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of North Sabinas and Lombrano Street

Finding a blood trail more than a block long, police said they are unsure if Polendo was run over by a vehicle or was a victim of a shooting. One possible scenario is that he was shot first and then run over by a vehicle.

Polendo was taken to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead around 4:30 a.m.

Neighbors in the area told police they heard multiple gunshots. One women said she saw a white car speeding west on Lombrano after the gunshots.

No arrests have been made.
