Women's Global Connection celebrates 15 years in operation

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio nonprofit Women’s Global Connection celebrated 15 years in operation.

A quinceanera gala was hosted by KSAT 12’s Steve Spriester at the University of the Incarnate Word. The gala was a celebration, but also served as a fundraiser for the group’s projects.

Women’s Global Connection’s director said the organization focuses on activities that empower women.

“We talk a lot about social entrepreneurship. If you go into business, how important it is to stay connected to your community and give back, as well (being a) as global citizen, what our responsibility is as a global citizen,” said Dr. Lisa Uribe-Kozlovsky, executive director of Women’s Global Connection.  

The gala is the organization’s biggest fundraiser of the year.
