Second Rogers Rd. shooting leaves man dead

Another shooting happened 2 blocks down, several hours apart

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred on the same street of another deadly shooting that took place the night before.

Around 1 a.m. Saturday morning, police responded to a shooting call in the 1800 block of Rogers Road at the Villas in Westover Hills Apartments. When they arrived, they found a man who had been shot in his chest.

EMS worked on the victim for 15 minutes, but he died on the scene, said police.

Police said the shooting happened on the third floor and are not sure why the victim was shot.

Police have a suspect in custody.

Several witnesses are being questioned.

Police are investigating whether this shooting is connected to a Friday evening shooting in the 2200 block of Rogers Road. In that instance, a man was shot and killed. Police are searching for a man in a blue hoodie who was seen jumping a fence and leaving the scene.
