COPS/Metro Alliance hosts community forum before early voting kicks off

Election Day May 6

SAN ANTONIO – The day before early voting kicked off in San Antonio, COPS/Metro Alliance hosted a community forum Sunday.

A large number of people filled the parish hall at St. Henry Catholic Church to hear from the candidates.

The event focused on immigration issues, living wage and job training programs.

Candidates for San Antonio mayor and City Council were invited to attend.

Diane Duesterhoeft said about 25-30 candidates for elected office attended.

She said Sunday’s event was “an opportunity for people, who have not seen who the candidates” to get a final chance to learn about them before voting.

Early voting begins Monday and Election Day is May 6.
