A neighbor said the owners of the home were remodeling but stopped about three months ago. For the last couple of years, the homeowners have had problems with squatters in the vacant home and illicit activity.

On Wednesday morning, contractors had boarded up the home after squatters were kicked out by police Tuesday night.

The San Antonio Fire Department’s arson team is investigating.

The fire caused a total of $30,000 in damage. A neighbor's truck was also damaged. No injuries were reported.
