SAPD arrests man wanted in connection to Atlanta Craigslist murder

David Rios, 34, charged with murder, unlawful flight to avoid prosecution

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio Police have arrested a man accused of killing another man in Atlanta before fleeing to Texas.

David Rios, 34, was taken into custody Tuesday night at a home in the 700 block of Micklejohn Street.

He is charged with murder, as well as an FBI charge of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.

An Atlanta Police spokesperson confirmed Wednesday Rios was wanted in connection to the May 1 disappearance of Vicente Cruz, 44.

Cruz disappeared May 1 after telling a friend he was meeting up with someone he found on Craigslist in order to sell his truck, according to previous media reports.

Cruz's truck was found a day later with blood inside.

His body was found May 22, an Atlanta Police spokesperson confirmed Thursday.

Members of SAPD's Repeat Offenders Unit arrested Rios as he arrived at the home on Micklejohn.

Officers found a substance in Rios' wallet later determined to be cocaine. They also found a rifle inside the home.
