Photographer captures rarely seen lynx kittens playing on patio

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Alaskan photographer Tim Newton got quite the surprise Wednesday when he saw a litter of lynx kittens.

“These seven kits were such a joy to watch playing on our deck,” Newton said in a Facebook post.

Lynxes are solitary cats that usually avoid humans and hunt at night, according to NationalGeographic.com.

Lynx paws are large and furry, as evidenced in the photos, which allows them to function like built-in snowshoes.
