Rodriguez pleaded guilty to a charge of injury to a child causing serious bodily injury as part of a plea deal.
Over the summer, Emma Rodriguez admitted to violently slapping her daughter in the face, then tossing her into a crib, resulting in the toddler’s death, prosecutors said.
The incident, which occurred at a south side home two years ago, resulted in Beautiful Rodrigues being rushed to an area hospital unconscious and not breathing.
She died four days later.
Emma Rodriguez faced capital murder charges before accepting the plea deal.
