BCSO Sergeant struck by wrong-way hit-and-run driver

Suspect caught

SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Sheriff Office said a sergeant was struck by a wrong-way driver Sunday morning. 

According to deputies, a driver was going east in the westbound lanes when he crashed into the sergeant's patrol car on Loop 1604 near Kitty Hawk in Universal City.

The driver left the scene without stopping, deputies said. Authorities were able to apprehend the suspect a few blocks away from the scene. Authorities have not said what charges the driver faces. 

The sergeant was shaken up but not hurt.
