The perfect proposal: SA man proposes to girlfriend in the middle of rare snow flurry

NEW BRAUNFELS – He had planned to propose at the Wassailfest in New Braunfels on Thursday -- the snow was just figurative, and literal, icing.

On Thursday, San Antonio native Greg Laprise proposed to his girlfriend Lizzy in the middle of a snow flurry; the makings of a one-of-a-kind Texas proposal.

South Texas received more than an inch of snow on Thursday -- some parts of Corpus Christi saw 7 inches of snow.

Many went outdoors to celebrate the rare occurrence, making snow angels, snowballs and snowmen. Snow fell throughout New Braunfels and surrounding areas for hours on Thursday.

The snowfall was the most snow San Antonio has seen since 1985.

The couple, who has been dating for a year, is planning to wed in New Braunfels some time next November or December.
