SAN ANTONIO – Two teens were arrested in connection with a deadly shooting at an apartment complex on the city’s Northeast Side on Friday.
According to police, 26-year-old Lauren Vasquez was killed and 40-year-old Jose Villareal was critically wounded in the shooting.
Police said the two teens, both 15-years-old, were visiting the victims at their apartment when they got into an argument. One of the teenagers shot the victims and fled the scene in a stolen vehicle.
Police located the stolen vehicle used in the murder and arrested the teens after a pursuit. One of the teens was charged with murder and aggravated assault. The other teen was charged with evading arrest and unauthorized use of a vehicle.
Officer Doug Greene of the San Antonio Police Department said that the shooting was reported around 1:40 p.m. at the Silver Ridge Apartments in the 8400 block of Quail Creek.
The woman suffered gunshot wounds to her upper body, Greene said. The man was wounded in the arm and back.
"They were trying to revive her. They were doing CPR, and they weren't getting any response," John
Police have not said if the suspects in this case knew the victims or what their motive was.
The names of the minors have not been released due to their ages.
"My condolences go out to the family and everything, especially around the holidays," Tone Davine, who was visiting his sister at the complex, said.
