Man looks right into security camera while robbing Helotes bank

Police looking for suspect

HELOTES, Texas – Authorities in Helotes are looking for the man who robbed Broadway Bank Friday afternoon.

Police said the suspect walked into the bank around 12:30 p.m. wearing glasses and an Old Navy pullover and handed the teller a note that read "give me your money and no one gets hurt."

Helotes Detective Issac Thornsburg said the clerk asked "are you kidding?" to which the robber replied "no ma'am."

The robber made off with a little over $500. Detective Thornsburg said the man may be a suspect in another robbery, but could not yet confirm that Saturday afternoon.

"He was pretty calm," Thornsburg said. "I doubt this is his first go-around."

Police believe he got away in an older model White Chevy Trailblazer or GMC Envoy parked in a lot across the street.

Those with information are asked to call the Helotes Police Department at 210-695-3087.
