Strangers mourn 6-year old boy killed in deputy-involved shooting

SCHERTZ, Texas – Blanca Martinez drove from San Antonio to Schertz to remember 6-year-old Kameron Prescott, who was caught in the crossfire of a deputy-involved shooting Thursday.

"So close to Christmas and this family has to go through this," Martinez said.

Kameron died following a manhunt for a woman who was also killed in the shooting at the Pecan Grove Mobile Home Park off FM 78.

Martinez left balloons, flowers and candles for Kameron.

“Six stars for each one of his years that he was able to live,” Martinez said. “The white flowers are, he's pure. He's innocent.”

The child’s death hits to home for Martinez because she has a grandson the same age as Kameron.

The Bexar County Sheriff's Office and officials with the Texas Department of Public Safety continue searching for evidence in the case.

Complete strangers like Martinez hope for peace and prayers for this community.

“He's in a better place than here. Now his parents will have their guardian angel of their own," Prescott said.
