2 teens injured in Converse accidental shooting

Teens taken to hospitals with leg injuries

CONVERSE, Texas – Two teenage boys were injured in an accidental shooting Wednesday afternoon in Converse.

Police said the boys were shot at a home on Sixth Street near Toepperwein Road.

Authorities said one of the boys was showing off a gun and shot himself and his friend in the leg.

Police found a .380 casing on the couch.

One boy was taken to University Hospital and other was taken to the San Antonio Military Medical Center. The teens confessed to the shooting at the hospital during questioning.

Previously, police had said the teens were injured in a drive-by shooting. They believe the teens lied because the teens were scared.
