Teen drowned after utility vehicle flipped into a pond

WIMBERLEY, Texas – A teenaged boy drowned when the UTV he was riding in rolled into a pond near Wimberley.

The Hays County Sheriff's office says Cooper David Potts, 16, was the passenger in a Polaris RZR when the driver lost control. The UTV rolled over into retention pond and Potts, who was restrained in a seat belt, died.

The Travis County Medical Examiner's office determined that Potts drowned.

Potts was visiting the Wimberley area. He is a resident of Katy, near Houston.
