Local school district warns about possible attempted abduction at bus stop

Officials with Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City Independent School Districts are warning parents after a man attempted to lure a child into his vehicle this morning at a bus stop in Universal City.

The student, who attends Wilder Intermediate School, was waiting for a bus when a man approached the student and tried to persuade the child to get in the vehicle with him.

SCUCISD officials say the child refused and told campus administrators what happened upon arriving to school.

The Schertz Police Department is investigating but plans to turn the investigation over to the Universal City Police Department, SCUCISD officials said.

In a post on its Facebook page, the district released the following statement:

"The safety of our students and staff is our number one priority. SCUC ISD will disseminate more communication pending further information from the Schertz Police Department and/or Universal City Police Department. "
