Former person of interest now wanted for murder of Seguin man on bike

SEGUIN, Texas – A man who had been identified as a person of interest in a murder in Seguin last month is now wanted for the crime.

Seguin police say Juan Osario, 51, shot and killed Alvaro Carrillo Sotelo, while the victim was riding his bike in Seguin on Dec. 14.

Police said Sotelo was riding his bike in the 900 block of Dolle Avenue when he was shot in the hand and abdomen. He was airlifted to a hospital, where he died of his injuries.

Osorio is described as Hispanic with black hair and brown eyes. He is 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs approximately 165 to 180 pounds.

Last month, Seguin police said Osorio was thought to be in southern Texas or Mexico, and said he has also gone by the name Juan Osorio Castaneda.
