Charges filed in violent family brawl at Disneyland
Video of the incident has gone viral
LOS ANGELES – Update: Charges have been filed in the Disneyland melee that took place earlier this month.
Avery Robinson, 35, has been charged with nine misdemeanors and five felonies including domestic battery, assault with a deadly weapon, child abuse and endangerment, according to the Orange County Register.
Robinson is the man seen wearing pink in the viral video. He has been booked into Orange County Jail and he faces more than seven years in prison if he is convicted.
Andrea Robinson, Avery's sister, faces four misdemeanor charges for attacking Avery, Avery's girlfriend and a Disneyland employee, according to prosecutors.
Daman Petrie, Andrea's husband, faces one misdemeanor count of battery for punching Avery's girlfriend in the face, Orange County Register reported.
A violent brawl broke out at Disneyland's Toontown Saturday and the entire incident was caught on video.
Anaheim Police were called to the park for reports of a fight and the initial investigation revealed everyone involved in the brawl was from the same family.
The family was uncooperative with Anaheim Police and wanted nothing done, according to a Facebook post from APD.
Children can be seen in the background of the video watching as the adults punch, slap and spit at each other.
Police noted in the post that there was no video at the time of the initial report.
Detectives are looking into the video to see if there is potential to file criminal charges.
