More than 30 units responded to a two-alarm fire in the 8500 block of Broadway.

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio firefighters were called to a North Side gas station for a heavily involved fire Saturday afternoon.

More than 30 units responded to the 8500 block of Broadway shortly after 3 p.m., according to the fire department's call log.

The fire started in the car wash, according to first responders on the scene. The car wash had been out of order for about a year, fire officials said.

Flames did not spread to the convenience store or the fuel pumps, but the fire was upgraded to a second alarm out of an abundance of caution, fire officials said.

No injuries were reported and the flames were extinguished around 4 p.m.
