Arrest warrants link dead robbery suspect to pawn shop robbery

SAN ANTONIO – New details were released linking a dead suspect in a fatal Popeye’s robbery to other robberies.

Trevon Atkinson, 18, was arrested Friday night for his alleged role in the Wednesday night robbery that left his 19-year-old suspected partner, Andres Herrera, dead by a bystander’s hand.

Atkinson’s arrest warrant stated that a room card found with Herrera’s body linked back to a hotel room rented by Atkinson. Inside, police found jewelry price tags from an EZPAWN that they believe Herrera robbed the day before attempting to rob the Popeye’s.

Atkinson is still only charged in the Popeye’s robbery.

Though they did not mention they EZPAWN by name, police said the pair are possibly implicated in numerous robberies.
