Man, 18, arrested in connection to armed robbery at South Side Popeye's

Trevon Deshon Atkinson faces aggravated robbery charges

SAN ANTONIO – An 18-year-old man was arrested Friday night in connection to an armed robbery at a South Side Popeye's on Wednesday.

That's where a father shot and killed the second suspect who was threatening his family. The fast-food restaurant was full of customers.

Trevon Deshon Atkinson, who is facing aggravated robbery charges, was caught Friday during a traffic stop.

Police said during questioning, Atkinson admitted to being the getaway driver in Wednesday night's robbery.

The other teen involved was identified as Andres Thomas Herrera, 19. Investigators believe the duo was involved in several robberies.

Police aren't saying how many robberies they believe are now solved with the Atkinson's arrest.

The father had a license to carry a gun in Wednesday's shooting.
