Children At Risk ranks San Antonio's top schools

SAN ANTONIO - The top schools in San Antonio are heavily concentrated in North East ISD.

Evacuees from Hurricane Harvey are coming to San Antonio from many affected areas in Texas, including the coast and parts of Houston.

This will likely have an effect on San Antonio schools, with new students and higher enrollment.

Children At Risk released a list of top ranking schools in San Antonio earlier this year. The results are below.

Top Elementary schools in San Antonio:

  1. Roan Forest Elementary
  2. Hardy Oak Elementary
  3. Vineyard Ranch Elementary
  4. Hoffman Lane Elementary
  5. Wilderness Oak Elementary
  6. Los Reyes Elementary
  7. Blattman Elementary
  8. Encino Park Elementary
  9. Beard Elementary
  10. Cibolo Green Elementary

Top middle schools in San Antonio:

  1. Young Women’s Leadership Academy
  2. Lopez Middle School
  3. Smithson Valley Middle School
  4. Bush Middle School
  5. Tejeda Middle School
  6. BASIS San Antonio - Medical Center
  7. BASIS San Antonio - North Central
  8. Church Hill Middle School
  9. School of Science and Technology - Alamo
  10. School of Science and Technology - Discovery

Top High Schools in San Antonio:

  1. Health Careers High School
  2. Young Women’s Leadership Academy
  3. Travis Early College High School
  4. Johnson High School
  5. Judson Early College Academy
  6. School of Science and Technology

Children At Risk uses students scores on standardized tests like STAAR Read and Math tests to help determine school’s ranking.
