SAN ANTONIO – A 22-year-old man serving two life sentences plans to testify in the trial of a woman charged with capital murder in hopes of sparing her a life without parole sentence.
Lawyers for Antoinette Martinez promised the jury that Cameo Clines will accept full responsibility for the slayings of two men.

In separate but similar slayings in June of 2014, Xavier Cordero, 20, and Steven Rendon, 19, were shot to death.
The men were lured to Martinez' apartment with a promise of sex, and were robbed and shot to death in fields in rural Bexar County, officials said.
Clines plead guilty to the slayings, and as part of a plea agreement is serving two life sentences.
"Cameo will tell you that Antoinette is guilty of murder and nothing more," Mark McKay, Martinez' lawyer, told the jury in his opening statement Monday afternoon. "He will tell you that he manipulated her, and that she thought the plan was only to rob the men, not to kill them."

If she is found guilty of capital murder, Martinez faces an automatic life sentence without the possibility of parole.
Defense testimony is expected to continue on Tuesday in Judge Catherine Torres-Stahl's 175th District Court.
