Driver in custody after vehicle chase, crash on San Antonio’s South Side, BCSO says

Crash occurred around 9:15 a.m. on SW Loop 410 near Highway 16

SAN ANTONIO – One person is in custody following a vehicle chase that ended in a crash on the city’s South Side early Monday morning, the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said.

The crash happened around 9:15 a.m. on Southwest Loop 410 near Highway 16, not far from the South Zarzamora exit.

According to the sheriff’s office, a deputy had attempted to make a traffic stop, but the driver of the vehicle instead sped off.

BCSO said deputies pursued the driver, just before the vehicle crashed near Highway 16.

The driver had no major injuries and was taken into custody. The name and age of the driver were not disclosed.

The BCSO also did not say what caused the driver to lose control during the chase.
