Man, 27, charged in fatal shooting in Converse

CONVERSE, Texas – A Universal City man has been arrested following a fatal shooting in Converse on Thursday night, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.

Vaughan Skirvin, 27, is charged with murder in the death of 38-year-old Joshua Huron in the 8800 block of Appaloosa Pass.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, Universal City police arrested Skirvin at his home after he called 911 and told authorities he had shot someone in Converse.

One man is in critical condition and another man is detained after a shooting in Converse, according to police. (KSAT)

Officers searched his vehicle and found an AK-47 type weapon matching the description of the weapon used in the shooting, the affidavit said.

The affidavit, however, did not mention a motive for the shooting.
