Man fatally struck by 2 vehicles on South Side street identified by authorities

SAN ANTONIO – A man who was fatally struck by two vehicles on the South Side has been identified by the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Shawn Patrick Guy, 53, was pronounced dead at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday after San Antonio police found his body in the 8600 block of South Zarzamora St., near Ansley Boulevard, authorities said.

A preliminary report from SAPD states that he was lying in the middle of the road and two vehicles hit him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said it is unknown why he was lying in the roadway.

Based on the evidence at the scene, the drivers of both vehicles fled the crash without rendering aid to the man, the report states.

When located, the drivers will face charges of failure to stop and render aid resulting in death.
