Driver hospitalized after rollover crash onto I-10 on Northwest Side, police say

Crash happened around 2:45 a.m. near De Zavala Road

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are investigating a vehicle crash that sent a man to a hospital early Monday morning.

The crash happened around 2:45 a.m. near Hausman Road and the frontage road of Interstate 10 on the city’s Northwest Side.

According to police, the vehicle was traveling on Hausman when the driver for an unknown reason lost control and jumped onto the highway, rolling across the eastbound lanes of I-10. That’s when, police say, the vehicle went over the center median and landed in the westbound lanes.

Police said the man had to be cut out of his vehicle by firefighters and was taken by ambulance to University Hospital, where he’s listed in serious condition.

The eastbound access road and main lanes of I-10 were closed for a while as emergency crews worked at the scene. The lanes have since reopened. No other vehicles were involved in the crash, police said.
