Man hospitalized after being shot at his front door on East Side, police say

At last check, the suspect is still on the run

SAN ANTONIO – A man is recovering in a hospital after being shot by a suspect who confronted him at the front door of his East Side home, according to San Antonio police.

The incident happened just before 11 p.m. Saturday in the 200 block of Coney Avenue.

A 39-year-old man told police someone had knocked on his door in an aggressive manner and was looking for someone.

In response, the man told the suspect at the door that he didn’t know the person he was referring to.

The situation escalated when the suspect pulled a gun and shot the man before speeding away from the scene in his dark-colored pickup truck, according to SAPD.

The man who was shot was taken to an area hospital, with gunshot wounds to his abdomen and arm. He’s expected to make a full recovery.

At last check, police are still searching for the suspect.
