Man shot, killed at NW Side apartment complex, SAPD says

Incident occurred around 2:45 a.m. in 1500 block of NW Crossroads

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police say a man is dead following a shooting on the city’s Northwest Side early Thursday morning.

Officers were called around 2:45 a.m. to the Preserve at Westover Hills apartment complex in the 1500 block of Northwest Crossroads, not far from Loop 410 and Culebra Road after receiving word of a shooting.

According to police, a 41-year-old man was shot in the head and killed during an altercation with a woman. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the woman told dispatch that she had a protective order on the man and that she shot him. She was detained by detectives who then questioned her. It is unclear how the man and woman are related, and if there will be any future charges.

SAPD said there was also a baby inside the apartment at the time of the shooting. The child was not hurt and was turned over to relatives.

The San Antonio Police Department, the San Antonio Fire Department and EMS all responded to the call.

Police did not say exactly what the altercation was about.
