Highway 57 in Zavala County open after fatal accident; second day of deadly crashes for area Zavala County Sheriff officials warns commuters to be prepared for delays and to find an alternate route

ZAVALA COUNTY, Texas – Highway 57 east of La Pryor is shut down following a deadly accident Wednesday morning.
According to a Facebook post from the Zavala County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened around 5:30 a.m.
Zavala County Sheriff, Eusevio Salinas said the crash was between a vehicle and semi-truck. Salinas said one person died
The highway was reopened after several hours.
This was the second deadly accident to happen along HWY 57 this week.
Early yesterday morning, the Uvalde County Constable’s Precinct 6 Office reported several people were killed in a major vehicle accident due to icy road conditions.
It is unclear whether Wednesday morning’s crash was due to weather.
