MEDINA COUNTY, Texas – Multiple people were accused of paying for prostitution, and another allegedly solicited a child last week in Medina County, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
The two-day operation, referred to as “Operation Rolling Thunder,” resulted in eight people being arrested for various crimes, including soliciting prostitution, online solicitation of a minor, and unlawful carrying of a weapon. The release said multiple law enforcement agencies were involved in the arrests in Medina County.

The sheriff’s office identified seven people accused of soliciting prostitution, a state jail felony:
- Edwin Torris, 22
- Ethan Lopez, 25
- Barwa Asi Hakem, 27
- Brandon Tyler Lathan, 30
- Anthony Clay Willis, 52
- Damian Renard Abbott, 53
- Kenneth David Duvall, 64
Willis and Duvall were also charged with unlawful carrying of a weapon, according to the sheriff’s office. Duvall faces four counts of the charge.
The eighth suspect, Michael Wayne Carr, 31, was arrested for soliciting a child online. The sheriff’s office said Carr showed up to an undisclosed location to meet with an underage girl.
“I love to fish, and over the past two days, we filled our stringer. Among those caught was a 31-year-old man who was showing up with the intent to have sex with an underage girl after online communication/solicitation of a minor under 14,” Medina County Sheriff Randy Brown said.
Brown said nine other online solicitation of a minor cases are pending.
