SAN ANTONIO – In an attempt to conduct a family photo shoot, a woman was stopped by security after officials discovered her walking a white-tailed fawn on a leash in front of the Alamo on June 30.
A Bexar County game warden was shortly called to the scene by Alamo security and began questioning the unidentified woman about her and the pet fawn.

In a news release sent out Friday by Texas Parks & Wildlife, the woman told the game warden she picked up the fawn on the side of the road and came to the Alamo to take Fourth of July family photos.

The game warden tried to explain to the woman that Texas state law forbids possession of game animals, such as a baby deer, but the woman became very upset and uncooperative, the news release said.

The news release said the fawn was seized and taken to a licensed Texas Parks & Wildlife rehabilitator and charges against the woman are pending.
Tourists at the Alamo were educated much more than just San Antonio’s iconic historic landmark as officials informed them about state law of attempting to take game animals as pets, the news release said.
