SAN ANTONIO – Automotive professionals are giving back to the community this weekend
CarFest will be held at the Freeman Expositional Hall on from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Mark Metzler, with the CarFest Development Team, said the purpose of CarFest is to give back to the community.
“We’re repairing 25 vehicles for the community,” Metzler said.
San Antonio Fighting Back, a local nonprofit organization, will be one of the recipients of the vehicle repair jobs.
“(CarFest) means a lot to us because it gives us an opportunity to get an automobile fixed for free and we can offer the services to the people in the community,” said Willie Mitchell, executive director of San Antonio Fighting Back.
Mitchell said CarFest contributes to San Antonio Fighting Back because it funds necessary services for those in need.
“We don’t have the money to buy vehicles, so when (CarFest) fix the vehicles for us, it means that we can do a lot to give more transportation to the people that need it in the community," he said.
Metzler encourages car lovers to come out to CarFest. “This is the place to be and you can win a free car.”
CarFest will be giving away an automobile every two hours.
