Not many athletic programs contend for conference titles in just their second year of existence. But that’s exactly where the Texas A&M University-San Antonio women’s basketball team finds itself, entering the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament as the No. 2 seed.

Despite the spotlight being on the Super Bowl this weekend, a large crowd turned out at Texas A&M University-San Antonio for a men’s and women’s basketball doubleheader against Our Lady of the Lake.

The Texas A&M University-San Antonio women’s and men’s basketball programs are nearing their inaugural season as part of the Red River Athletic Conference with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.
