The newest report for child fatalities brings bitter sweet news for children in our state, 199 Texas children died in 2021, the number dropped when compared to previous years. The number of children who died by child abuse in Bexar County did not change from 13.
San Antonio emergency room doctor seeing no slow in COVID-19 hospitalizations
SAN ANTONIO The number of hospitalizations related to COVID-19 is starting to decline, according to the City of San Antonios website. But that trend is not something emergency room Doctor Robert Frolichstein is seeing at Methodist Hospital. I dont know that Ive felt that so much in the emergency department, Frolichstein said. Dr. Frolichstein says Methodist has been able to keep staff from getting sick and prevent dire situations where patients would not be treated. We have really not had much illness within the Methodist health care system of staff, nursing staff or physicians.

After thousands #EncourageEsther in her fight against COVID-19, health officials say she’s in recovery
Esther, 37, battled the virus for eight weeks and was in critical condition when she first arrived, according to her Methodist care team. However, officials said Esther was recently removed from life support and is now undergoing rehab at Methodist Hospital | Texsan. Having lost hope and the motivation to keep fighting, her care team recognized a decline in her health. Esther's care team said the overwhelming support given to her from all over the globe helped rejuvenate her spirits. Her progress continued and she was able to be removed from life support.
