Some local businesses in San Antonio have reported that they will not be open on Friday, Jan. 30, or will donate a portion of proceeds to charities supporting immigrants to protest the increased presence of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in the city.

The U.S. Postal Service has temporarily stopped accepting international mail to Canada due to an ongoing strike by the Canadian Union of Postal Workers.

Journalists across the U.S. will walk off their jobs next week at publications owned by Gannett, the largest newspaper chain in the U.S. Their union said Thursday that the mostly one-day strike will start June 5.
