Texas flood survivors take their fight to D.C.

About 30 flood survivors from several states, including Kerrville and Travis County, just went to Washington to ask the federal government to keep its promises. They want the president to approve individual assistance through FEMA for the 2026 flood, money that could cover housing, unemployment, case management and legal help, and they want Congress to fund the Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery program that could get families back into permanent homes. Kerrville native Claudia Limon got on a plane for the very first time to make the trip, saying families in her community are still displaced or living in homes full of mold with nowhere else to go. KSAT's Patty Santos spoke with survivors from both the 2025 and 2026 disasters about the message they have for lawmakers like Chip Roy and Ted Cruz, and why organizers say there's strength in numbers.  Watch the full story on ksat.com
