Lt. Benjamin Foulois pilots the Army’s first aircraft over JBSA- Ft. Sam Houston

Meteorology likely played a role in the event, which saw Foulois take flight four times. The flights would last only minutes, but it turned out to be a huge day for aviation. Foulois is known as the “father of U.S. military aviation”.
