Mandatory evacuation implemented in Victoria County before Hurricane Harvey hits

Curfew in place

SAN ANTONIO – A mandatory evacuation has been implemented and a curfew has been put in place in Victoria County. People in the county are making last-minute preparations for Hurricane Harvey’s arrival.

Stores are almost out of water and other essentials.

Victoria County spokesperson Diane Boyett said the county is anticipating potentially life-threatening floods, strong winds and isolated tornadoes. Some areas may see more than 20 inches of rain in a four-day period.

For those who decided to stay, the curfew takes effect at midnight Friday until 6 a.m.

The curfew takes effect again Friday from 10 p.m.- 6 a.m.
