News of the possible restaurants comes as a new survey by Fast Company found 30 percent of IKEA's customers go to the stores simply for the food.

IKEA said it sells more than 1 billion meatballs every year, or about 3 million each day.

IKEA in November announced that it will open a store in Live Oak. The 289,000-square-foot store will be built on 31 acres on the southwestern corner of Interstate 35 and Loop 1604.

The store is scheduled to open in the summer of 2019. The Live Oak store will be the fifth in Texas.
