NEW YORK CITY – Standup comedian, writer and actor Charlie Murphy has died, according to TMZ.com. He was 57.
Murphy is actor Eddie Murphy’s older brother and had minor roles in more than 20 films in his career.

He is best-known for his time as a writer and cast member on Comedy Central’s “Chappelle’s Show” with comedian Dave Chappelle.

TMZ reported that Murphy died of leukemia Wednesday morning in a New York City hospital.
He had been undergoing chemotherapy, according to the report.
