SAN ANTONIO – "Iron Chef Gauntlet" on the Food Network begins Sunday and San Antonio's own Jason Dady is competing.

Dady, the owner of several restaurants around San Antonio including Tre Trattoria and Shuck Shack, will be facing off against seven other chefs on the show.

This year's season of Iron Chef is different from past seasons. For five weeks the competitors will face off against one another. The winner will then face a three-ringed gauntlet that will be a battle against Iron Chefs Bobby Flay, Masaharu Morimoto and Micahel Symon.

Dady has been a successful chef in San Antonio since 2001 and said he is looking forward to representing San Antonio.

"It's an unbelievable honor to be able to showcase San Antonio and our restaurant group on such a platform as Food Network and the 'Iron Chef' franchise," Dady said. It's a dream come true."

Dady's restaurant Shuck Shack will be hosting a viewing party for the premiere on Sunday at 7 p.m.

"Iron Chef Gauntlet" starts Sunday and airs at 8 p.m. on Food Network.
