STSO founder and artistic director Ronnie Sanders said the orchestra will allow musicians from all walks of life to perform.

"There are doctors, lawyers, business owners, music teachers and people from every imaginable background who play an instrument and have no orchestra to call home," Sanders said. "This can be a place where they can rekindle their passion for music."

Sanders hopes to enlist musicians with an orchestral background who would enjoy playing in a volunteer ensemble on a regular basis.

Audition dates will be announced soon on the orchestra's website and rehearsals will begin in September.
