Salvation Army program helps get Christmas gift to less fortunate

SAN ANTONIOThe Salvation Army is still looking for people to take part in its Angel Tree Program.

The organization is short about 2,000 people. The goal is to make sure that eligible families have a gift under the tree on Christmas morning. More than 7,000 local children are expected to qualify for this year’s program.

The program provides clothing and toys for children who are less fortunate. People can sign up to adopt an angel at any of the local malls. The deadline to register is Saturday.

The Angel Trees will be at every San Antonio mall, except La Cantera, each day.

La Cantera's Angel Tree will only be on display on Saturday.
