Holiday Ole Market Offers Unique Finds

Junior League SA Fundraiser Runs Through Saturday

SAN ANTONIO – It's a shopping lollapalooza. The Junior League San Antonio's 18th Annual Holiday Ole Market is open for business, featuring 91 merchants selling everything from sock monkey hats to poufs to plenty of bling.

Jill Ruggles joined the crowd Thursday at San Antonio Shrine Auditorium, Loop 1604 between Stone Oak Parkway and Blanco Road. She was browsing the bazaar and doing a little early holiday shopping.

"It gets you in the mood," she said. "This is the kickoff to get you in the spirit."

Shopper Margie Harriss showed off a turquoise-colored bracelet she had purchased for a friend.

"These are seeds, all natural," she said. "And I got one for me."

The Junior League is promoting the market as a shopping event, complete with entertainment and food.

General admission is $15. Children 12 and younger are free. Net proceeds benefit charitable projects the League supports.

"We pride ourselves on supporting women, children and families in need," said Junior League spokeswoman Christina Martin.
