SAN ANTONIO, Texas – A fire ravaged through a Northside apartment complex Saturday and sent residents running for safety, fire commanders said.
It happened at 10:30 a.m. at the Sundance Apartments on the 4600 block of Gardendale, near the Medical Center.

Orlando Gonzales, who lives in a neighboring apartment building, caught video of the fire on his phone.
"I just saw a little bit of smoke," said Gonzales. "And, I turned to the left and there was a huge fire, you know in the sky and it was crazy."
The first crews to arrive reported spotting thick smoke gushing from an apartment building and quickly called for more units.
Firefighters evacuated residents from the burning building as they worked to control the smoke and flames.
However, crews were able to knock the fire down and kept it confined to building 23, where it started.
"I think they did a good job," said Greg Pearson. "It didn't spread beyond that block and that's a good thing for all of us."
Walsh said there were 8 units in building 23 and of those 8, 6 were occupied. All of those residents were relocated to other units in the complex.
The Red Cross assisted eight families displaced by the fire.
