Police nab man who escaped twice

Wesley Prince, 18, handcuffed in patrol car before he got away

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police hope a man who escaped from officers twice before is in custody for good.

Wesley Prince, 18, was arrested Saturday on a felony charge of escape.

An arrest affidavit stated police had been looking for him since Jan. 26 when he got away from officers twice who had tried to detain him.

Officers said they tried to approach Prince when they spotted him in a crowd and recognized him as a suspect in several burglaries, but he ran away.

Officers later caught up with him, placed him in handcuffs and put him into a patrol car.

However, officers said while they were searching his shoes and socks, Prince worked his cuffed hands from behind his back to the front, and ran away, the affidavit stated.

Prince was booked into jail with bond set at $15,000.
