Roberts went 6-5 last season, but the year was marked by a controversy.
Roberts was put on probation in October after his defensive coordinator, John Jennings, was found standing too close to the Antonian High School bench before the Apaches were set to play the Buttons.
Antonian filed a complaint and Jennings was suspended for five games.
Roberts was promoted to head coach after Carlos Enrico insisted he had resigned to become the athletic director but many alumni felt he had been forced out.
Enrico had been head coach for more than two decades.
Central Catholic's president announced Roberts will leave on June 1.
