$3.36 gas spotted on SE Side

Gas 'price-war' dropping prices at H-E-B, Murphy Express on SE Military

A gas "price war" has been waged on the Southeast Side and drivers have been the big winners.

The Murphy Express on Southeast Military and South New Braunfels is competing with the H-E-B on Southeast Military and Goliad.

As of Sunday afternoon, prices were hovering near $3.36 for a gallon of unleaded gasoline. Both parking lots have been full with drivers waiting in line.

"I never fill it up. Prices are pretty high, but right now it's cheap so I wanna take advantage of it," said Fernando Mondragon.

According to Triple-A, a gallon of unleaded gas in San Antonio averaged $3.72 on Sunday afternoon, a four cent decrease from last week.

The average across Texas on Sunday was $3.77 a gallon while the national average was $3.86, Triple-A reported.
