Store manager accused of stealing, selling cell phones

Police: Lee Garcia took advantage of delivery man's mistake

A delivery man's mistake has led to criminal charges for a cell phone store manager.

Castle Hills police believe he knowingly took wrongly delivered merchandise and tried to sell it on his own.

An arrest affidavit stated a co-worker pointed the finger at Lee Garcia, 40, telling investigators that he tried to capitalize on a delivery man's mistake.

The employee told police Garcia knowingly accept a delivery at Cricket Wireless on Jackson Keller Road last October that was meant for a different cell phone store.

According to police, the box contained more than $21,000 worth of cell phones.

The employee told investigators that at one point, Garcia offered him $1,500 to keep quiet.

Later, he said, Garcia threatened him, saying he knew members of the Mexican Mafia who would come after him if he told, the affidavit stated.

Police arrested Garcia on a theft charge Monday.
